IPL 2020 CANCELLED?!13 CSK MEMBERS TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID 19

 

Dhoni and co. will be quarantined for one more week missing their opener against MI.

The Indian Premier League which is set to begin on September 19, has experienced a major setback as thirteen members of the Chennai Super Kings test POSITIVE for covid 19. 

Two of the members are players and rest are staff members. The players were tested thrice after reaching Dubai during the mandatory one week quarantine period. After the cases found in the CSK team, BCCI has decided to extend their quarantine period by one week. This means that they CSK will not be able to play the season opener. Accordingly, the BCCI has decided to reschedule the opening fixtures of the tournament. 

A debate has already  flared up on social media on whether the tournament should be postponed or not. The BCCI has released a statement saying that they have conducted 1,998 covid tests so far. They said that they each player and staff member is being monitored closely.
